Our history
Founding of Labo Nuytinck
After gaining experience in both academia and the private sector, Griet Nuytinck founded Labo Nuytinck in 1985. Since then, the laboratory has grown into a trusted partner in medical diagnostics.
From the beginning, continuous investment in expertise, innovation, and development has been a central focus. Supported by a dedicated team and a strong belief in transparent communication, the organisation continued to grow while staying true to its core values. Today, collaboration and authenticity remain at the heart of Anacura’s approach, reflecting Griet’s original vision.
Launch of Anabiotec
Driven by internal innovation and scientific ambition, Anabiotec was established as a second company within the group. The company, an analytical platform, dedicated to supporting (bio)analytical and CMC activities throughout the development of all types of therapeutic modalities.
With its specialised expertise and strong scientific foundation, Anabiotec further strengthened the group’s position within the life sciences sector.
Anacura is born
In 2014 all units and services were brought together in a new state-of-the-art facility in Evergem, marking the official start of Anacura. The name combines Ana, referring to “analysis” — the group’s core expertise — and Cura, symbolising care and the patient-centered nature of its services.
Around the same time, Global Stem Cell Technology (GST) joined the group. As an innovative company focused on developing blood-derived equine mesenchymal stem cells for veterinary applications, GST created a strong scientific synergy with Anabiotec.
The combination of the different expertises in the Anacura group resulted in the first EMA approved stamcel product for animals. GST was successfully acquired by Boehringer Ingelheim in the summer of 2020.
acquisition of OHMX.bio and launch of Anacura Discovery Studio
In the summer of 2024, Anacura acquired OHMX.bio, a Ghent University spin-off specialised in advanced omics technologies. This acquisition further expanded the group’s scientific capabilities and strengthened its position in end-to-end (bio)analytical services.
Later that year, Anacura Discovery Studio was launched as the group’s fourth unit. Focused on accelerating biotech innovation, the studio supports the translation of groundbreaking scientific concepts into therapeutic applications and real-world solutions.
Together, the four Anacura units provide complementary expertise and integrated scientific support, helping bridge the gap between innovative research and impactful healthcare solutions.
Branch office Lausanne
The opening of a branch office in Lausanne marks an important milestone in Anacura’s international growth journey and reinforces the group’s long-term commitment to the Swiss market.
From this new location, the teams of Anabiotec, OHMX.bio, and Anacura Discovery Studio will continue to strengthen sustainable partnerships, support regional innovation, and further expand their presence within the European life sciences ecosystem.
